Online Access

Grosvenor Medical Centre is now offering an new means of contacting the surgery via our online portal.  You can use this service to request continuation fit (sick) notes; enquire about test results; order repeat prescriptions.  You can also access a range of online support and advice services as well as contact the surgery regarding a new or existing health problem.  Please note this portal is not for emergency or serious health concerns.  Requests are aimed to be dealt with within 2 working days (not including weekends and bank holidays) and are only reviewed during the hours of 08.30 to 16.00.  If you are seriously unwell or have an emergency situation you should still access health service immediately.  The portal can be accessed by following this LINK

The latest information on symptoms of Coronavirus infection and areas where recent travel may have resulted in a high risk of exposure can be found on nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/

NHS 111 has an online coronavirus service that can tell you if you need medical help and advise you what to do.

Use this service if:

  • you think you might have coronavirus;
  • in the last 14 days you've been to a country or area with a high risk of coronavirus;
  • you've been in close contact with someone with coronavirus.

Do not go to a GP surgery, pharmacy or hospital. Call 111 if you need to speak to someone.

Like the common cold, coronavirus infection usually occurs through close contact with a person with novel coronavirus via cough and sneezes or hand contact. A person can also catch the virus by touching contaminated surfaces if they do not wash their hands.

Testing of suspected coronavirus cases is carried out in line with strict guidelines. This means that suspected cases are kept in isolation, away from public areas of GP surgeries, pharmacies and hospitals and returned home also in isolation. Any equipment that come into contact with suspected cases are thoroughly cleaned as appropriate. Specific guidance has also been shared with NHS staff to help safeguard them and others. Patients can be reassured that their safety is a top priority and are encouraged to attend all appointments as usual.

Everyone is being reminded to follow Public Health England advice to:

  • Always carry tissues with you and use them to catch your cough or sneeze. Then bin the tissue, and wash your hands, or use a sanitiser gel.
  • Wash your hands often with soap and water, especially after using public transport. Use a sanitiser gel if soap and water are not available.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth with unwashed hands.
  • Avoid close contact with people who are unwell.

Coronavirus (COVID-19) Vaccination Status

It is now possible to view your COVID-19 vaccination status using the NHS App and also Patient Access.  Both of these systems allow you to view parts of your medical records (in this case the 'immunisation pages').  It is simple to register if you are not already a user https://www.grosvenormedicalcentre.org.uk/doitonline.aspx 

COVID Vaccination

We are currently working through our eligible patients according to the Government guidance. 

Patients are being contacted via text or phone. Please do not contact the surgery unless you are having problems booking via the link in your text invite. You will be contacted when it is time for your priority group to be vaccinated.

Information if you have a pre-booked Covid vaccination appointment:

All Covid vaccination appointments must be pre-booked. Our Covid vaccination clinics are being held at the old MMU (Manchester Metropolitan University) campus in Crewe which is now called Buckingham Apollo Health Sciences campus, postcode CW1 5DU.

Do not attend for vaccination if you have covid symptoms.

Do not arrive early for your appointment.

Please wear a face mask or face covering and wear a sleeveless or short sleeve top under your outer garments.

Please keep ordering your repeat prescriptions and taking your medicines as normal. It's very important you don't order more medicines than normal. If you do, then it may mean that other people won't be able to get their medicines.
